~One Year of Paper Crafting~

I ended the first year of Paper Crafting by making 460+ cards, several boxes and a dozen or so mini-albums.   Pinterest has supplied mountains of inspiration, as well as YouTube.

Every one of my cards is a one of a kind. The 'fancy folds' are my favorites.

The tri-fold shutter card was the hardest to figure out.  All the folds seem to go in an opposite direction.  You can get very creative with the decorating, using co-ordinating decorative papers.

The step cards are my favorite.  They are easy to make and decorate and can be styled with the focal point in the center or on the sides.

This is a "NeverEnding Card".   It's difficult to explain .  The card opens and folds four different times.  Each time there is a different "scene".  You can keep folding and folding...as the name describes~it's neverending.   This is another card that took several attempts to get it right.

This was the first attempt at a "pop-up" card.

While I love making cards, boxes posed a different challenge.

This is an "Exploding Box".  When the lid is lifted, the sides fall away.  Each side has a waterfall of 3 pages that can be used to mount photos. So it is an album in a box.

This is called a "Card in a Box".  It folds flat for placing in an envelope.  Then opens to stand and reveal the floating embellishments.  This has become a favorite card to make for birthdays and special events.

2 small gift boxes.   They fold open and have another smaller open box inside which can hold little gift items.   The larger box is another Album in a Box.

More small gift boxes and another Exploding Box~one of several Christmas themed boxes that I made.

Lastly, I got interested in mini-albums.  There are many different styles but all are smaller than a traditional scrapbook sized photo album.  The fun part is that the pages are not static places to mount photos; they are interactive with pockets, pull-outs and flip ups.
Will share Albums in the next post.
